Well if you have never received a discount something wrong, either you are not on domestic tariff, or some how you have been missed, as every home with PEA got it for 3 months last year.

Or maybe you have not clearly understood your bills,  person reading the meter has a hand held machine that is programmed to give the discount.

Actually there were several things including refund of meter deposits last year - but some could not receive that due name change.  As for the lower tariff that was also messed up with some getting and others not - although they tried to fix later and believe most got in the end.

rather than a price drop i seemed to have got a price freeze!

in March my usage was 216 units up 73% from 125 units  the previous month

and yet my bill was exactly the same ( 438.33 baht)

and i mean exactly !

please explain?? thanks

IIRC that's how it worked last year, freeze the bill at the Feb level. Not heard any announcement at all this year.

I assume it is a domestic tariff, about 4 baht per unit, as we only have a house but did not receive anything last year.

That bill seems to be the same rate as ours.

The discounts being applied do seem to be a bit, er, inconsistent.

My bills just keep going up with the temperatures - was around 2200b now 3000b. I live in a house and pay government rate. No discounts here at least.

And that may be a key point - OP was talking condo - new rules were recently implemented to bring condo electric rates down to normal range so these low charges may be both lower rates and payback of excess fees already paid.

I think it is a global thing because of covid-19, I am in OZ at the moment and I normally pay

1860 baht for 2 months but twice I have been giving a credit of 14950 baht,I have not paid

any electricity for about 1 year so it is not only in Thailand. But I must add I draw the

pension now.

Can you post a photo/scan of the bill with the personal stuff redeacted please?

There should be something on there to give us a clue as to what's going on.

This is all I could find...

appreciate no announcement but  two q's

1. when you say freeze do you mean 'cap'?

2. traditionally, for how many months do you not pay any more than you did in Feb?

thanks

Yeah, poor use of English, "cap" is the correct word.

IIRC it was for 3 months last year.

There were some caveats against excessive usage, but pretty much ????

Yeah, we went from 569 to 774 units ????

Relatively poor solar output plus a house full over the holiday.

With the schools closed the grandkids (and their love of A/C) will be remaining with us until the end of the month. Such is life.
