Alinghi seemed faster up the first beat and led around the first and second mark, but now as I see TNZ has caught Alinghi and its neck n neck now,

a great start by Alinghi only to have TNZ pick to correct side and make a huge gain - out by 300m and then Alinghi coming back on the 2nd leg and closing right up to lead TNZ on the 3rd due to a mistake by TNZ rounding turn 2.. and then the shifty winds favouring the kiwis once more.

The $64,000 question. Why didnt the well paid afterguard on Alinghi cover to protect the lead? result 2-1. Yeeeeeessss!!!

A number of new boats will be on the start line for this year’s Audi Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race on Saturday 28 July, including a strong fleet of Victorian boats headlined by a brand new Rogers 46 cruiser/racer.

Rob Hanna’s latest Shogun was built in Thailand by CMI Builders and launched three weeks ago. It is the only one of its kind in Australia and one of only three in the world.
