Then to add more to the issues ahead, this article just popped up in my viewer for the vaccination efforts to only include Thais and not foreigners.

The Government confirmed that foreigners who had registered via the Mor Prom app or the LINE app would not be offered vaccination in the June or July roll out.

The issue of foreigners being able to access Covid vaccines in Thailand is further complicated by the government’s not allowing private companies or hospitals to independently import vaccine doses after changing their mind several times on the matter.

I think they are striving to be the "Hub of Peaks". As for the vaccinations lets wait and see and yes it is a shame that those with their pretty pink cards will be disappointed by the sounds of it. But TIT and I'm sure once the provincial hospitals have a good supply it will most likely be simple to be nice to them and receive your vaccinations if you wish.

At this rate they can forget about reopening to foreign tourism this year, they'll be lucky if they can reopen to domestic tourists before Christmas, lol!

Your guess is as good as mine.  However the main man has donated hundreds upon hundreds of Oxygen tanks and supplies from here to India.  Maybe paying it forward but who knows.  Countries help other countries before they even take care of their citizens.  It is called a political game field.

If the above comment is accurate, then that means that both Pfizer and Moderna are taking the position they won't sell their vaccines to private parties... At least, that's what the Thai government is saying...  Which may well be a bad sign for the chances of Thai private hospitals being able to source their own supplies of either.

 

The number of positive cases found via Active Case Finding (random sampling) dropped significantly overnight from 231 to 152. That means that 400+ extra new cases came from contact tracing and walk-ins.

 

My read is that the positivity rate is declining nationwide but there are some hot spots being addressed now.

Not likely. Expect double digit deaths into June.

India got laxed in April and look at the devastating effect of 300,000 new cases daily and thousands of deaths daily.

 

Thailand did the same by allowing travel during Songkran, I don't see the peak yet.

Ideally, it’s the number of positive cases identified by random sampling divided by the number of random samples (tests). Unfortunately, the government doesn’t announce the number of random tests on a national basis. But if you assume that the number of random tests is more or less constant from day to day, then you can track the announced number of positive results to determine the movement of the positivity rate.

Well all Thais before any foreigners is a moot point. 

Giving money away with no transparency, no oversight and no accountability is pure stupidity. Is there really no audit trail for these funds.?

Definitely an exponential decay in numbers of deaths since yesterday let's hope the exponential trend in this decay continues.

Credit exposure is the maximum amount of money a company can lose at a given time if say a wholesaler that buys from the company doesn't pay the invoice(s). 

 

Australia has donated 68 million baht to help Thailand with its vaccination program. Australian expats told by the Australian embassy in Thailand they would not be included.
