BANGKOK, May 12 (TNA) – COVID-19 vaccination started today at the first non-hospital venue, CentralPlaza Lardprao shopping center, and recipients were personnel in contact with possible COVID cases and registered at-risk workers.

The inoculation was organized at the Sky Hall on the third floor of the shopping center in Chatuchak district with the capacity of vaccinating 2,000 people against COVID-19 a day.

Doctors and staff from Ramathibodi and Phramongkutklao hospitals were on duty there. Only vaccine doses from Sinovac Co were used.

Brazilian trials of the Sinovac vaccine CoronaVac for instance, showed an efficacy rate of around 50.4%, which is barely over the 50% threshold needed for regulatory approval by the World Health Organization (WHO).

So, they are 50% protected.  Good job.

Good luck to those vaccinated.

And what does Thailand say... it's up in the 90's or something after the first jab?

As I understanding - vaccines such as Sinovac have been proven to protect 50% of vaccinate people from actually contracting Covid-19 at all, the remainder are protected from serious symptoms leading to death:

i.e. For Sinovac the figures are reportedly:

50.4 % effective at preventing people from contracting Covid-19

78 % effective at preventing mild Covid-19 cases which may need treatment

100 % effective at staving off moderate to serious cases of Covid-19

Other vaccines have better stats, but they’re not better if they’re not here.
