Aside from the GP track, Buri Ram is a boring, desolate and flat rice field with a few mountains in the south. It really is nothing special. Few foreigners have even heard of it. A friend last night asked me "what's Buri Ram" when I sent him a screenshot of this article.

About 27,000 people might enter in to his calculations.

The irony not lost on the fact that for all intents and purposes there are no vaccines.

Actually, this is pretty insane. It appears you are breaking the law for merely not signing up. Pretty ignorant.

I once again am left wondering if this is codified law or just some government mafioso bringing damnation.

I think the word you're looking for is fascism.   Power hungry mongrels who are incompetent, covering up their abysmal failures now by shifting the burden to the down and out Thai. Almost all Thais I talk to here in CM give a great big "NO!" to Sinovac.   I guarantee you this will never fly. One of those idiotic pronouncements made Monday and forgotten about by Friday. We have all seen it happen dozens of times.

I still don't want to be a laboratory rat and try experimental vaccines.

I understand and appreciate your sentiments but let's face it, they are all still experimental vaccines. For example, I read this morning that they believe they have found out why some people are getting clots with some of the vaccines. in more established vaccines, lengthier trials may well have found and solved  such problems before being released.

I remain really skeptical about the entire vaccination for foreigners process here. I know that some foreigners have been vaccinated and that is good for them. However, in spite of pronouncements and assurances, I am pretty sure I would have to wait until 2022 or even 2023, I believe that is possible, for a State jab. Given my work, I need to travel internationally. Guess who is going to pay for a private vaccination.

There is so far about prob 2 BILLION have been vaccinated . This is by far the largest ever experiment ever . How many people do you want before you want to go to the other side ( prob never i know but , im asking anyways ) . Bloodcloths with some vaccines , yes there have been ... in nrs 10 times less then on the birthcontrol pill where nobody even blinks a eye . The anount of viagra/kamagra sold on the streets in Thailand prob is tested on large amount of people also ... .

Yes i am vaccinated , and so are all my in my family except a few youngsters  and nobody had anything more then 1 day sick in the worst case ( AZ if you want to know ,, most of the people i know got Pfizer and they got beside a sore arm nothing at all ) .

Give me a good reason for you not to be vaccinated and i answer you ... ( experiment is out already with 2 billion people vaccinated ) .

The earth isnt flat also , and 5g beams arent the reason for covid .

ill dare you to give me the reasons .... if it is valid , ill tell you also ...

Hotandsticky: I do not know, but worth your time to have a Thai speaker phone the Buriram main hospital 044-615-001 on Monday to see if first shots are being given on Tuesday.  The Thai speaker might ask if the "tent to sign up" is at the "racetrack" or at the Buriram Castle Shopping center in a tent.  I was told by the guard last Monday to come back to the racetrack early in the morning (via a translator on the phone) and it was never made clear to me if there was a different location to "sign up".  These shots have been going on for some time as today the owner of Book N Bed Restaurant was getting his 2nd shot.

you are cute .  but naivety is not a virtue .2 billion laboratory rats.  In 2023, they may receive a final permit.  until then, it is temporary for all vaccines. the fact that so many people vaccinated themselves does not prove anything.  perhaps so much that there are so many brainwashed who believe in drug manufacturers.  i trust my immune system.

Less than 3 percent died in this "dangerous" virus. Almost same as die in flu. Don't forget to mention most died because of the mistreatment in the hospitals. WHO ordered treatment.

But I feel like I talk about colors for the blind person.

You already made a wrong choice.

Pfizer already filed for full approval ... so your 2023 is wrong , like all other statements .

You trust your immune system , so you never took any medicine or vaccine in your life , and you just drink green clay and look up to see if there is any help there . I still not heard any good reason why not take the vaccine , since the i trust my immune system is just basic bs . You arent talking colors , you just believe facebook rather then science .

You need to stop  presenting your opinions as if they are facts.

Good luck with your immune system... hasn't worked out for a lot of people.

You just Google how him and his family amassed their wealth and associated influence. From simple herdsman until they won "the lottery" in the 1960's by selling aggregate to build the American forces infrastructure , some say at grossly inflated prices. How they gained the land is a  mystery !!!  but how they staved of the competition is well documented. In fact the perfect credentials for fitting in with the evolving Thai culture that had emerged earlier 30 odd years earlier.

Khmer Rouge comes to mind

This sounds like some of the silly local laws I had to enforce back in California:

1) No gas powered leaf blowers

2). No for sale signs allowed on cars parked in residential areas

3) No construction on Sundays

4) 3 yard sales per year on your private driveway or yard(????##@@@)

All these local laws were in place long before this pandemic.  There are many others but I have tried to flush them from my mind.  Governmental silliness is global.

By the time a foreigner under 60 and without underlying conditions gets vaccinated it could 2022?  By then I could be living in Dallas or San Antonio?

The familiarity of the cr4p you write makes me think that this is not your first time round on Thai Visa.

I've lived full time in Buriram since 2004. I have always maintained proper Thai medical health insurance. I have a choice this week to go see Dr. Boy at Ram Ekachon Private hospital to pay for a Covid 19 vaccination. Not Moderna, Not Pfizer, Not Johnson & Johnson. I went this week and received my first does of Sinovac vaccination with 2500 other people in an orderly fashion at Chang International Circuit. It was efficient, friendly, professional, and at no charge. I am fully confident that June 7th onward that locally produced under license AstraZeneca vaccines will be widely available in Buriram. The racetrack was closed last Monday and may be closed on Mondays. If I owned a hotel, restaurant, pub or retail store it would be prudent to incentify my staff to obtain Covid 19 vaccinations sooner than later.  I recall a few months back where all restaurant employees had to go to a hospital for Covid 19 TESTS and show written proof of the tests before the restaurant was allowed to reopen. Public safety comes to my mind.

I am told that the private hospital in Buriram will sell "American" brands of Covid 19 vaccine in MAYBE October. We all make choices, and if you own a business you make calculated choices. I would wager business owners will make informed choices in Buriram. I look forward to when pubs can open and alcohol can be served in Buriram. I did my part this week at the Racetrack. You can phone or visit the Buriram Government Hospital or the private Ram Hospital to see when you as an expat can receive a particular brand of Covid 19 vaccination. I took the easy route and drove to the racetrack.  You make your own choices. The shot did not hurt and I have experienced no side effects.
