Cannot get Scanner to work

Featured Replies

Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon, Brother DCP-T300 printer/scanner.

I have got the printer working without much trouble using drivers downloaded from Brother website and instructions from Easy Linux tips project..

I have tried without success many times to make the scanner work using instructions from both the Brother website and the Easy Linux tips project . Each attempt ends after about 4 commands in "invalid command" or "command not recognised".

Has any expert any advice to offer? I do not want to lug the equipment into Chiangmai to find a Linux specialist

show what commands you type and the results you get.

The scanner is now working. I made one last attempt intending to record exactly what commands I was using and their effect. I had originally got the printer to work using the Easy Linux Tips site in preference to Brother's own site (which did not work).

I started using Brother's own installation guide and to my surprise, it worked.

Alles in ordnung ist !

The topic is now redundant. Thanks to all who tried to help
