Seven villages in Koh Kong locked down over Covid-19 outbreak

Koh Kong authorities have barricaded the entrances and exits of seven villages in Sre Ambel district in a move to curb the Covid-19 outbreak. The villages are located in Srem Ambel, Chroy Svay, and Boeng Preav communes in Sre Ambel district.

 

In the statement issued on Sunday evening, provincial governor Mithona Phouthong said that lockdowns are imposed on the villages of Khnang, Veal Choeung, Veal Tboung, Trapaing, and Tbiek in Sre Ambel commune, Saray in Chroy Svay commune and Sala Maneang in Boeng Preav commune as of Sunday till further notice.

 

The infections have occurred in the villages tied to the February 20 community event.
