What happened to Garamycin?

Featured Replies

Used to use Garamycin as a general all purpose cream for cuts and scratches and the like, but does not seem to be available anymore.

Used to get it easily from any pharmacy but now all the ones I've tried "don't hab"

What happened to it, why is it not readily available anymore?

The Boots I go to (Century Mall) has plenty. I've been buying tubes every couple of days past week for a wound.

The substance (Gentamycin) is contained in different other creams.

Often combined as an all-purpose weapon like the expensive Quadriderm.

I have got so many creams over the years.

Recently from a clinic got PHOEBUS CREAM. (anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal).

Also with Gentamycin (0.1%). Cheap and easy at my preferred pharmacy.

Looks like there is not much choice with Gentamycin only.

Obviously been asking at the pharmacies

Will check out Boots next time I go to town

Thanks....
