Information provided by Vimut Hospital on vaccine registraton

I just returned from Vimut Hospital this afternoon and had a long chat with very polite man who spoke excellent English at the hospital's information desk.
Me: What time will the registration open on 7 June?
Information officer (IO): If you have already registered, you will be informed of the date and time for your vaccination by SMS. Did you register?
Me:. Yes, I did.
IO:. May I have your name.
Me:. Gave my name. He kept trying to locate my information in the database. He finally said that he could not locate my record in the database. When did you register?
Me:. About five days ago.  He still couldn't find my record but kept looking. Since you can't find my record, can I register while I'm here?
IO: No, our 'first round' of registration is closed.
Me:. I know that I registered, can you keep looking?
IO: Yes, what is your birth date?
Me: I provided my birth date.
A, OK, I found your information. Your queue number is 5,616.

Me: Does that mean there are 5,615 people before me in the queue?

IO: Yes.
Me: So, there is no point for me to show up on 7 June, is that correct?
IO Yes, that is correct. You will be sent information on the date and time for your vaccination by SMS.
Me: Will my queue number in your system determine the date and time for my vaccination?
IO: Yes.
Me:. Will you database be adjusted to provide for any priority based on a person's age or underlying health conditions? I'm over 70 years old.
IO: No, I'm sorry, sir.
Me: The information from the CCSA also said that I could register for my vaccination at my treating hospital. Would it be better for me to go to my treating hospital to register and be vaccinated?
IO: No, because only our hospital and Bang Rak will receive the first lot of vaccine.
Me: I then verified all the information in the database to include my mobile phone number and email and left the hospital.

I can only verify the content of my conversation with the information officer.  I would invite and encourage others to inquire in the same manner that I have. Most importantly, I would strongly recommend that your name and information is in the hospital's database. I would also note that there 'appears' to be no need to follow up in any type of 'registration' process on 7 June based on the information I was given in this conversation.

This is from their website now.

Thank you for signing up for the COVID-19 vaccination. Registrations are now closed.
Once the vaccine allocation is finalized by the related government agencies, we will contact you for further information.

Interesting that they don't seem to prioritize by age and underlying conditions, if what the employee said turns out to be true.

Sarcasm may follow. Not a bad approach, take a few thousand registrations from expats in Bangkok, then close the first round. This way they will be able to claim that, indeed, the process to vaccinate expats starts smoothly on June 7th. Even if there won't be a second round before July or so.

I too registered by the form provided on the date it first came available. I then added vimuthospital to my Line, and this afternoon I received this message:

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. We are now waiting for the announcement from related government agencies. Please stay tuned to be updated on our official website.

So I'm assuming my registration did not take place, or did it?

Anyway, nothing is going to happen until they have 1) enough vaccine and 2) enough slots to fulfill those who registered.

From the message sent to you on LINE, it is difficult to discern exactly what the 'inconvenience' is but I think an educated guess would be that there isn't enough vaccine to start jabs on 7 June.

I would guess your effort did "take", but what you did wasn't actually a real registration, but rather an intent to register or preregistration.

If they actually get back to you or I or the others who managed to complete their online process before it closed, it will be with a date to actually go there and register in person...

And then, perhaps get the vaccine that day, or, be given a date to return for the actual shot.... The latter part remains murky for the time being.
