BANGKOK (NNT) - The remains of two Thai workers who were victims of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict have now arrived in Thailand, with the Minister of Labour and government officials expressing their condolences at the airport.

The remains of the two Thai victims of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, were returned to Thailand from Israel onboard El Al Israel Airlines flight number LY081, from Tel Aviv to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

A ceremony was held in Israel by the Royal Thai Embassy before the remains were transported back to Thailand. The remains of the two Thai men are now being transported from Bangkok airport to their hometowns in Petchabun and Buriram, where the funerals will be taking place.

The Minister of Labour Suchat Chomklin has expressed condolences in the name of the Thai government to families of the deceased, as well as the government’s care towards Thais injured in the conflict.

He said families of the deceased will have access to compensation as provided under the law.

Flight LY081 arriving in Bangkok today was a repatriation flight returning Thai nationals from Israel. Passengers on the flight also included 263 evacuees from Ohad, an Israeli town affected by the fighting. Some of the evacuees had been physically injured.

These evacuees are being assisted by their employment agency in undergoing their 14-day quarantine in Thailand, before traveling back to their hometowns. The Ministry of Labour will be making home visits to the workers, providing help and arranging the compensation to which they are entitled.
