A disappointing announcement with only 1 million being talked about.

I did think that the latest developments as gazetted might have just put a bomb under things & got thing moving, with many non chinese vaccines coming our way but this just looks like a PR exercise

We're told that only the government can import medicines (maybe just those under an emergency use waiver?). But that it takes time to work through the "red-tape". So the CRA saw a need, granted themselves the authority and acted.

PTT to import Remdesivir to treat severe Covid patients

 

PTT’s subsidiary Innobic (Asia), a joint venture with Taiwanese pharmaceutical firm Lotus, is planning to import 2,000 bottles of Remdesivir by the end of this month.

This drug is a second choice for the treatment of severe cases of Covid-19 if the patient has an allergic reaction to antiretroviral drugs like Favipiravir.

No clue on the "status" of Remdesivir here? Assume it's legal for private companies to import.

Of course it is legal for a private company to import Remdesivir, if the company has the required license from the FDA to import modern medicines and the FDA registration certificate for the product.

I too completed a registration, with detailed questionaire, but alas it seems to have been a wasted

Nope, no need to change the statement. That is debatable as communism and socialism are interwoven and very much interchange as are very much a part of each other. It’s like the two had a baby. Ownership and wealth and non ownership state owned blah blah blah. But don’t think for over a second the state doesn’t  have their thumb on any of that pulse and everything else that everyone does. Here is one for you. Do you think there is freedom of religion there in China? And their elections are not false not manipulated and real? It’s all false and smoke and mirrors and personal freedoms are something they made their own definition of it.

maybe time to read up on Russia then, it is the country north of China stretching to from Alaska to Ukraina and a centralised capitalist state, anything but communist or socialist.

Yawn! Capitalistic dictatorship based with communist ideology intermixed. Throw in some parts of socialism if you would like as well. . Just because the Czar changed the look on the surface to meet his needs, doesn't mean it is not well and alive used in many areas. Call it what you want, you can even call Thailand a real bonafide democracy if you want to.
