BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand’s Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) has reported that the draft plan for tax restructuring for 2022-2026 will focus on four goals.

FPO executive director Pisit Puapan said the first goal is to enhance the country’s competitiveness and ensure sustainable economic growth. The second goal is the promotion of the digital economy, by deploying technologies to upgrade the country’s tax management system.

The third goal is to promote a green economy, by encouraging people to reduce the use of products that could harm the environment. The fourth goal is to ensure fair treatment and transparency and promote social safety nets and the health sector.

Mr. Pisit said a good tax system is one that supports children, the elderly, the handicapped and the disadvantaged.

Don't think I'd bother about any tax restructuring until I see this year pan out for tourism, announcing tax plans now and again in 8 months when it goes pear shaped will just make people more angry
