You'd have to atleast ask for a picture of their police ID card and a pic of the policeman holding up the days newspaper showing the date.

I think you will find that intelligent people's attitude would be different when deciding between arguing the toss about B200 and the B40,000 and B90,000 demanded in the case of the OP.

Just as likely the payoffs went to the real BIB, and now they're just trying to distance themselves from it.

 

Like others have suggested...  If the money was transferred, there's an audit trail.  Even better than CCTV.
