These news reports get old.  Again, no order placed.  And Moderna has already indicated deliveries to several countries, including Australia and Canada, who've already paid up, are being delayed.  Next year is my guess for delivery here.

In an update to this story, back in April, Moderna expected to delay 18% of the Canadian deliveries.   Today, it stands at about 50% delayed.   So seems it's trending the wrong way.   Looks like the only hope is whether the US can help.

I see no reason to doubt the Credit Suisse report.  There are a number of other data sources that reflect the same numbers, such as those from the World Bank.  Merely "looking around" is not a substitute for statistical accuracy.

As for "age prioritization" from the private hospitals, who know the answer to that right now?  Not me.  I would suspect (hope) they prioritize by age and comorbidities for the rollout of their first lot.  I mean, I'm sure hospital administrators are responsible and committed to doing this in an ethical manner

I don't know where you're getting stats that suggest they must already be "oversubscribed".  Unless you have data to support that, It's kind of bad form to suggest something like that since it just make people who read it unnecessarily more anxious than they already are....no offence intended.

I said oversubscribed because the head of the Thonburi Group said that they had over a million registered. That would be half of the October doses right there. Presumably he was talking about their 3-day registration period for Moderna last week. That's only a group of 11 hospitals. According to Google there are 370 private hospitals in Thailand.

As for income figures, you did not discuss my point about unofficial income. I guess that a lot of business people don't tell the whole story.

Ohhh...sorry!  You're right.  All of the confusion with both the private and public rollout is turning my brain to mush LOL!  I'm signed up for both.

Still curious about the Queue number.  Which hospital issued that, do you know?  It's kind of odd for ANY private hospital to being issuing appointments yet since the Moderna has not even been ordered by the Private Hospital Association yet.  This all just gets more and more confusing by the minute LOL!

I didn't register with Thonburi. Caldera said that Thonburi gives queue numbers, but I'd like to confirm that it's for the Moderna jab . In another post, you think that people will be prioritized by age, etc. It would be good for the old foreigners, like most of us.

Thonburi Hospital Group - when I registered with them on Line, the confirmation included a queue number. Mine is in the 600,000s, for what it's worth.

So was that for a Moderna jab?

Yes, they had a registration process on Line, for Moderna. They closed it after just a few days though, maybe the number of people showing interest took them by surprise.

Hey if the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines arrive then, at least the Thai children, can get the good stuff, and adult Thais and expats can get

their third booster of good stuff by sometime in the Winter.  Patience is a virtue if you do not die of COVID before this Winter. (sarcasm)

  Geezer
