Thai May consumer confidence hits record low on virus outbreak

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thai consumer confidence dropped to a record low in May, hurt by the country's latest and biggest coronavirus outbreak so far and a slow economic recovery, a survey showed on Thursday.

 

The consumer index of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce fell to 44.7 in May from 46.0 in April, when the outbreak emerged.

The last COVID wave is one thing but meanwhile Somjai is losing faith in the government he put into power that they can manage the outbreak and organize a proper vaccination program.

I need new reading glasses as I initially read "May government confidence hits record low on virus outbreak" - but I was wrong again!

The Thai population is losing consumer  confidence because the Government is starving the people of income to spend, stop blaming the pandemic...
