Israel, Canada etc. paid a premium to get to the front of the line.  Thailand is coming in late but they will not be paying as much as 1st world countries did.  That matters in a relatively poor country like Thailand.

Thailand is not a poor country, relative or otherwise.

These guys obviously forget what they say.

SiamBioScience through the Government said

Minimum Batch 1m doses. 8 batches already approved & released 3 more batches should  be released in 3 days.

This statement was made just before the end of June.

Now they make this statement today that less than 2M have been released to date with another batch being released today.

Obviously maths is not a strong point or they had to recall 9 batches

How about contacting this company now and possibly get in front of the line?

Would that be the front of the line behind those already there.

Trials have also taken place in the United Kingdom, and subject to regulatory approval, at least 60 million doses will be manufactured by Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies in Billingham for purchase by the UK government.[20][21] They also signed an agreement with Serum Institute of India for mass scale production for developing and low-income countries.[22] It has also been reported, that the vaccine will be manufactured in Spain[23] and in Poland by the Mabion company.[24] The first human safety studies of the candidate, codenamed NVX-CoV2373, started in May 2020 in Australia.[25][26]

Jesus wept.  They say they have received about 2 million Astra-Zeneca vaccines and 7.5 million Sinovac--and then say in the very same breath that AZ has been the 'most used' vaccine in the country.  Huh?  Lovely math skills.  Easy to see that the local production of AZ has been a train wreck; hence the heavy reliance on Sinovac and the--at last!--ordering of other vaccines from abroad.

I think that Thailand needs to wrap their heads around what needs to take place:  10 million doses every month needs to flood in.  If they start now they will be ready to open in a year from now.

They are still not ready to administer these doses either.

The USA is probably not going to give it emergency authorization because it's not needed given that there's already a surplus.  So if it's not going to be used anytime soon there, that does open up the possibility of other nations buying it sooner rather than later.

The US gave Novavax 1.6 billion dollars so I think they probably will give it emergency use authorization because of that even though they don't really need it.  It could be a good booster shot for 3rd doses although that will probably require another study.
