Phuket – Phuket authorities are preparing to establish the “EOC Phuket Tourism Sandbox Operation Center” as a command center of all local networks to track and follow up all foreign tourists during their visit to the island to potentially prevent the spread of the Covid-19 Coronavirus, the Phuket governor reported today, June 23rd.

Governor Narong Woonciew told reporters after the meeting with Phuket tourism sandbox operation center officers this morning that the so-called “EOC Phuket Tourism Sandbox Operation Center” will be formed as a command center for tracking and tracing arrivals by using Phuket Smart city technology as a driving mechanism.

The governor was positioned as the incident commander, along with relevant government agencies, including military officers and the police to manage, supervise, and monitor the arrival and departure of foreign tourists and Thai people traveling to Phuket.

This whole idea sound more and more like those notorious prison islands whereby you are closely watched, contained prodded and checked, and they call it a "holiday"...

They need a drone operations center to fire Sinovac vials at dirty farangs who try to escape.

North Korea sounds like a nicer holiday destination compared to Phuket these days.

Clearly shows Phuket authorities are living in a dream world.

Welcome to Phuket concentration camp holidays, plenty of activities for everyone, all closely monitored by the Phuket mafia.

Remember to stay within the prescribed guidelines, and your stay will be something for you to remember for your life time.????????????????????

Just received a message from Air Asia ,flights to Phuket from 1st July from 235 baht.

They've been trying to implement this for years. Long before the covid 19 debacle. Welcome to the new normal.

tourists coming to the litterbox have to test negative 72 hr before their flight, and then negative again on arrival.

so if they get infected while here, that means they caught it from a dirty, infected, likely unvaccinated, thai.

that suggests that they should be tracking thais, not tourists

There lies the problem not enough Thai's have been vaccinated, and it's spreading I posted earlier 2 markets have been closed down where I live

What's the problem with tracking? Have you seen the police playing games on their phones at checkpoints? The tracking operatives will be in a darkened room watching soap operas or Pornhub on VPN and sending police to chase packs of soi dogs wearing tracker bracelets.

This is the least of their problems. The US just declared Thailand an area for their citizens to avoid due to CIVID and civil unrest.

The more you read about this and other schemes, you learn that Thais could not organise a Party inside a brewery let alone this. The planning thinking processes ( if any ) are at best  flawed and useless.

I would have to plan a good answer if they asked me why I went to 2 or 3 massage places everyday.

AH yes,  the Great Escape.    You guys looking for love in the Sandbox.......... Don't forget to bring a glove and ball .    You might be in solitary

How disturbing in an Orwellian sort of way with a dash of Huxley tossed in for good measure.

"The perfect dictatorship would have the appearance of a democracy, but would basically be a prison without walls in which the prisoners would not even dream of escaping. It would essentially be a system of slavery where, through consumption and entertainment, the slaves would love their servitudes."
- Aldous Huxley
