How to Get a Thailand Tax Identification Number (TIN)

Featured Replies

Hi, i got the thai nationality and live permanently in thailand, i own a website with adsense, i need to provide a TIN number to Google. Could you share your experience please ? If i don't pay taxe to google, what will be the income taxe rate in thailand please ?

Cheers

I just went along to my local tax office. In Pattaya it's near Jomtien. Presented my id, passport etc and got a small credit card sized card with my 13 digit tax ID. Used it at the time to get some interest back on my savings which had been taxed.  You can look up the tax rates on the web.

If you have Thai nationality your TIN is your ID card number.

Thanks mate, did they asked information about your business ? Do you think they will ask the domain name of my website ? Will they check it ?

Very interesting, so if i don't need to register to the tax office, i won't pay any tax ?

Thanks mate

Can it be done online?

Thats not how it works. If you owe tax on income earned somewhere and received in Thailand according to tax laws the onus is on you to report and pay it.

I don't really know in your case.

Is it income being paid by google directly into your personal or a company thai bank account or is it income earned and deposited offshore? Does google withold any tax?

At the moment google want your tax number, for Thai nationals this is usually their 13 digit ID number so you could give them that.

After you could visit the tax office near you and hypothetically discuss your case with them or get some advice from a private accountant.

Check also the Thai revenue website, most of the tax rates, rebates and information is avaIlable there.
