webfact
The seasonal drought crisis gripping Lopburi province, which has led to a shortage of clean water this past month, is finally “doing better,” an official from the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) told Thai Enquirer on Friday. “The drought has partially subsided after we successfully pumped some water back into the production process for farming and other purposes,” said Paradon Rungrokteera, the Head of the DDPM in Lopburi province. The province also worked with the Royal Irrigation Department in draining the water back into the system. The official didn’t provide any information on exactly where the water was being pumped from or to, or any quantification of the recent improvements. Thailand
After a pleasant wet April cleaning away the Chiang Mai smog the last two months have seen a definite lack of precipitation. Thunderstorm rolling around for a couple of hours last night, not a drop of rain- again!

kickstart
We live 40 km from Loburi and it is not good ,with 28 mm of rain last month and 39 mm so far this month Nearly all the maize crops are going for cattle feed ,or are being ploughed in ,no rain the crop has flowered, and the pollen has dried up ,so no cobs . Last year the fall army worm devastated a lot of crops ,this year no rain , Some are saying the government will help the maize farmers, but most say they will not ,no money in the coffers . In a round about way the government will help the farmers vie the BAAC ,the farmers and co-op bank, by giving them more loans, and increasing their debt even more .
