(Photo by Handout / ROYAL THAI ARMY / AFP) A night-time curfew has been imposed in Thailand’s southern province of Songkhla, from yesterday (Wednesday) until July 29th, amid ongoing daily new infections of between 133 and 216 over the past week. People in the province may not leave their accommodation between 10pm and 4am each night, while social gatherings are discouraged, to get the spread of the coronavirus under control, said Songkhla Governor Charuwat Kliangklao today. Exceptions are being made for movement at night related to medical treatment, rescue, the transport of essential goods and medical equipment, banks’ cash, postal services, commutes of officials on duty, those commuting from the airport or on public transport and others with unavoidable reasons for being be out. Yes it is a phenomena unique to Covid. If you have 2,400 customers coming into a 7/11 daily over 24 hours or 200 per hour, they will transmit more virus contamination that if you lock the 7/11 down allowing it to be open for only 12 hours a day and putting 400 customers per hour in contact with each other.
