BANGKOK (NNT) - Thailand on Sunday announced new restrictions centred around Bangkok in a bid to tackle the coronavirus outbreak.

The new measures, which will be implemented for 30 days from Monday (June 28), include a ban on restaurant dine-ins in Bangkok, the capital, five surrounding provinces which are Samut Prakarn, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon and Southern border provinces which are Yala, Narathiwat, Pattani, and Song Khla according to a document published in the country’s royal gazette.

Buri Ram and Bung Karn impose restrictions on travellers from Red zones

April 7, 2021

An announcement from the communicable disease committee of Buri Ram, issued on Tuesday, states that all travelers from the five Red zones will be subject to 14-days of quarantine upon arrival in the province, or to 600 baht rapid tests at Buri Ram provincial hospital at their own expense. If the tests are negative, the travelers will not be quarantined.

Travel is STILL not recommended.

thanks

first mention of test.

The precise Buriram info is a bit sparse in a regular Google search and the information I posted was the most recent when they clamped down last April. This was BEFORE red areas in and around Bangkok went to dark red. My primary source of information is an Udon Thani based businessman who has a home and family in Buriram. He's checks several times a week and he can travel from Udon Thani which is also yellow but he needs to check-in with the local orbortor on arrival; same when he returns to Udon. His business requires monthly trips to Bangkok and the Buriram health authorities told him that if he did that, it's a mandatory 14-day quarantine on his return; same for Udon. The question of testing isn't confirmed as still being required but since it's the rapid RTK testing and not full PCR testing, I don't see why they would have stopped it, especially with infection rates steadily increasing.
