I remember a few years ago just after the last coup a news story about a group of Israeli

"security analysts" being arrested in Thailand  with "interesting devices"  about the same time there was also  renewed talk about the "single Internet gateway" and arrests of many political/student activists.

10-15 years ago I was told by a security expert that  the CEO and all others in big meetings would leave their mobiles out of the meeting rooms because it was known that they were not secure , and that mics and cameras could be turned on remotely ,  and memory copied ,

 

This was way before anyone knew of Pegasus ,  and how many other programs are doing the same thing ?
