Sanook reported on a 110 kilometer chase in Bangkok in the early hours of Sunday morning.

It involved staff from Poh Teck Tung, Ruam Katanyu and two other foundations and was eventually resolved with the help of an off duty policeman who blocked the drunk man's car with his own vehicle.

First respoonder  Thanawat had been called to a house in Lat Pla Khao, Bang Khen after a younger brother was attacked in a domestic dispute by his older sibling.

Drink was involved and an argument over a woman.

The responder left as the man recovered but then had to return after the man was reported unconscious.

His attacker - a man called Num, 32 - then kicked his sibling, pushed his mother and grabbed the responders surgical knife and made threats.

He disappeared in a Honda with a bag containing valuable vital signs equipment issuing a challege to chase him.

The chase encompassed Ramkhamhaeng, Rom Klao, Pattanakan, Klong Tan, Ladprao five ways junction and Kaset before it came to an end in Ram Inthra Soi 28.

A police officer called Somsak attached to the Arintarat task force heard of the chase on a live stream on Facebook and left his base in his Isuzu to intercept the out of control drunk.

He fled after a collision but was soon in custody thanks to staff of the rescue foundations.

He was handed over to the Bang Khen police and initially charged with drunk driving and breaking the curfew.

Drugs tests were also ordered.

The Olympics are over ...anyway  those doing the kicking where  dressed in rescue service overalls

hardly  a good example of kindly human behaviour.

Shouldn't have run off with their medical stuff and taunted them to chase him.

He should have known how short the Thai fuse is, irrelevant of the uniform.

Was it really a 110 km distance chase, or a 110 km/hour chase?  If it was 110 km distance, don't they believe in using radios or cell phones to call ahead and have some police intercept or head the guy off?
