Head of security at the Hua Hin administration Montree Manitpong and health officer Jenwit Palisak went to the Hua Hin police with evidence yesterday calling for prosecution of two pubs in Hua Hin.

They allege that the establishments flouted emergency decrees and other restrictions back in April.

The establishments have no licence, were operating outside a control zone and were open after 12 midnight, it was claimed.

The last evidence regarding opening hours was contained in the timelines of many people who subsequently tested positive for Covid-19, reported Naew Na

The four month delay in the reporting of the alleged offences - and the fact that they were not named in the article - could be put down to the fact that they are owned by the family of a well known local politician, notes ASEAN NOW.

The officials told the police that it was hard to establish who was actually in charge.

Naew Na further reported that the three defendants in the case of a concert taking place at the Maya Pub on March 30th was resolved by a court decision on July 30th.

Defendant #1 was fined 40,000 baht and two others were jailed for six months.

All the sentences were reduced by half on admission and the jailed defendants were granted bail in the sum of 30,000 baht while they appeal the court ruling.

So managers fined and the owners let off yet again.

Some of the pubs/bars in H-H were operated by police officers, most of the ones I know are actually quite cool guys. Of course this was in the past, everything is locked up now, staff out of work and food........ right, lets lock up Thailand even more!

Perhaps start at the owner of the land...

Most of the establishments lease the facilities - this has nothing to do with the owner of the land.
