snoop1130
BANGKOK (NNT) - The government has continued to offer COVID-19 vaccination for vulnerable population with mobile vaccination clinics organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, aiming to offer vulnerable groups protection against the disease. Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhanadirek has announced the latest update from the assistance campaign run by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS) for vulnerable populations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. From 28 July to 30 August, the MSDHS has provided assistance to some 66,000 vulnerable people across the country, covering children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, homeless people, underprivileged people, bedridden patients, and people struggling with social issues, with 8,670 of these people in Bangkok receiving care from this campaign, plus 57,378 people in other provinces. In Bangkok, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has proactively provided COVID-19 vaccinations for people at higher risks of COVID-19 infection and vulnerable people, including the elderly, people with underlying health conditions of concern, and pregnant women. Since 10 September, City Hall’s vaccination drive has served 1,200-1,500 of these people. The MSDHS has now received an additional supply of 100,000 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine from the Thai Red Cross Society. The MSDHS will be working together with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the city’s Health Department to distribute these shots among vulnerable populations, with mobile vaccination clinics set up at local communities. The government is encouraging people facing social issues and vulnerable populations affected by COVID-19 to request assistance by calling the MSDHS hotline 1330, contact any Provincial Social Development and Human Security offices, or reach out to their local social development and human security volunteers. -- © Copyright NNT 2021-09-20 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates
