They are still pursuing a zero covid policy, 21 day quarantine period and apparently revamping internal infrastructure for domestic tourism. Winnie the Pooh seems intent on taking the country back to cultural revolution days and they aren’t allowing their citizens to travel, maybe because they might be exposed to what the rest of the world really thinks of them. Chinese tourists are the biggest spenders in Thailand - they love to shop, especially expensive brand name products - average consumption in 2017 was $193 per day for Chinese, while Americans spent $143 and Europeans on the bottom with only $125...???? RichardColeman Posted September 22, 2021 Share Posted September 22, 2021 The biggest problems for tourists is not only the daft entry restrictions, but not knowing what Thailand will decide to do on restrictions and entry next. YOu simply cannot plan a holiday on that basis. I'm outside, and away near 18 months, but I still say close it 2-3 months more, vaccinate what you can and open for vaccinated tourists with no restrictions the next month. I was considering going on a greek island cruise with my wife 4-14 oct, but I believe if I do the cruise then when I return I will have to stay in Ireland for a few weeks as there are restrictions stopping people going to thailand if they have been on other travels in the previous few weeks.....have you heard of said rule 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
