They are saying that 'Entertainamnet Venues' will not be opening for the time being anyway and what else is there ?  We all know the main attractions in Pattaya and it's not the Beach !

I guess that leaves the streets and the girls open?

Maybe because it is not that polite, regardless the number of times it is pronounced, heard or read on numerous medias

How about :

1) What on earth? and  WoE as an acronym

2) Something definitely wrong here ?  or SDWH. You could shorten this one to SDW / SWH or even SW

and my favourite one:

3) As Siri would put it, I'm sorry but I didn't get that .

I admit that an acronym for the latter would look kind of awkward ????????????

(It is pun intended...just in case )

Anyone remember ISIRTA (Radio 4)?

Seems applicable in almost all LOS official announcements ...

opening the borders of the country is one thing, and opening the country's economy and shops

is another thing.

not many tourists will come when all shops bars and restaurants are closed.

right now there is a strict alcohol ban, so the streets are empty.

tourists who came here feel sorry and cheated, everything is closed so why did they come?

to sit in the hotel and watch TV?

It's a classic 'what comes first the chicken or the egg?'

Do you have any answer for that question?

I hadn't realised that Chiang Rai was closed actually, I just thought that there weren't any tourists!

Lamphun is florishing.  Wife and I drove through and were commenting on the difference between Chiang Mai (which looks bombed out) and Lamphun (pretty much thriving with local and domestic business).
Honestly - for the vast majority of Thailand - really? Who needs foreign tourists.

"w.....t.......f" is a term representing foul language for those whose English is lacking in adjectives!

W.....t......f with f*** representing a term that can be used as an infinitive, present and past participle, conjugations, present continuous, present perfect, present perfect continuous, simple past tense. past continuous, past perfect perfect continuous, simple future, future continuous, and future perfect tenses!   I'd provide examples but..... you know.... I can't.

Don't for a second think that those who use said language lack English language skills.
We're just - more expressive and less inhibited.  Fyi, I learned how to conjugate f*** in the United States military.  Thank god I came out of there with a skill set.  ????

Second Phase (1-31 December, 2021)

The reopening will be extended to 20 more provinces which are tourism-driven, well-known for art and culture, or border destinations. These include Ayutthaya, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen,

So if I left the country to take care of some business I have in Europe, and came back to Khon Kaen  after December I would not have to do quarantine? Would I have to stay at a ASQ hotel for 7 days? and  f I have to stay at an ASQ hotel but was free to roam around, What is to prevent me from going to my house? Or could I go to my house but in the evening I would have to go to the ASQ to sleep. Wouldn't that be ridiculous? If you own a house in the area you are visiting, and you have a Yellow book to prove it, You should be able to go home, and submit to periodic covid tests at a specified location

Yes. Your example is more or less accurate.

But i notice no adjectives in your conjugations to replace foul language, that is enough for it to be considered deletable by Admin on this forum, that I agree with.

Not directly linked to the OP but it does somehow

Hoe=w to put it....I am so bloody upset

We flew out of Thailand in June after buying a ticket with a confirmed return in November 2021  with Thai Airways.

A couple of weeks ago we bought the mandatory insurance

Knowing that things are moving back and forth regrading the quarantine and all "news", it gives us plenty of time to apply for the COE but, nevertheless, it doesn't hurt to check the process...which I did

And I was in for quite a big surprise: there is no semi commercial flight from Paris.

Semi commercial Thai airways flights depart from Denmark, Germany and UK

What a joke !!!!!!!!! I can't imagine the state of mind we would have been in if we had realised that a couple of weeks prior to our departure (which coincides with the end of my spouse's visa in Europe)

I cannot find the correct words to express my feelings

While I do believe there was the "Thonglor" outbreak, bars are hardly the main cause of outbreaks. Factories, migrants and migrant work camps, had significantly larger outbreaks. Travel home for Songkran probably the biggest catalyst for this years spread. You can sit in a restaurant indoors with many others but not a bar? Massive markets and shopping malls open with hundreds but 5-10 people in a bar are the threat? How about only outside tables for bars, beach bars, etc. No, its not bars, but rather the government believes alcohol fuels and intensifies all negative activity in the Kingdom. So, they either accept that outcome or ban alcohol forever.

Ummm....the outbreak was from bars in Thonglor. But yes, the other wave was from illegal immigrants. And another small one from illegal border crossings from Laos casino/nightclubs.

Lots of super spreader events are documented as coming from bars, parties, etc.

More people need to be vaccinated before we get out of this mess.

I do believe it was bars which caused the last wave.

Whilst it makes no difference, it should not be forgotten that it was certain senior Thai government officials at said bars in Bangkok that started this.

If quarantine is reduced to 7 days 1st October, but planned for no quarantine 1st November, unless you were desperate, why would you come here now?

I know I would not be a happy camper if I had been one of those people arriving in October or November who has now paid for 14 days SHA+ hotel, 3 covid tests and jumped through all those hoops. When in fact, other people on the same inbound plane won't be.

Where do you read "no quarantine 1st November"?

I was hoping that was the case, but as far as I read the re-opening plan remains at 7-days and every month they just add more places implementing 7-day quarantine with no end in sight.

Really hope I am wrong.

They really need to start using the SHA or ASQ identifiers.

Because there are no plans to scrap quarantine on November 1. You have been misinformed.

Press is justifiably confused.

But as long as they are specifying provinces, that implies there is still quarantine in place...meaning any arrival must stay in that designated area, implying SHA+ hotels and possible closed routes. I still don't really understand how that can work...but they seem to have a "plan".

...otherwise people could go to Chiang Mai, and just disappear elsewhere in Thailand.

Sooner or later, their plan will be fully vaccinated and a negative test within 3 days of flying, plus probably insurance to enter Thailand...probably next year sometime.

Interesting when I got my second shot of Pfizer this morning.

They said I can that take that vaccine paper and go get a yellow vaccine booklet if I plan to fly Internationally.

But they say that they have run out of vaccine yellow books and will not have them until late October, so please change your flight until then.
