webfact
BANGKOK, (TNA) – The cabinet approved the procurement of 165,000 additional doses of the COVID-19 vaccine made by AstraZeneca from Spain and expected delivery early next month. Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said the cabinet assigned the Department of Disease Control to order the amount of the vaccine in addition to the 449,500 doses that the cabinet had resolved on Sept 14 to procure from Spain. The total procurement from Spain rose to 614,500 doses. Mr Thanakorn said Spain would deliver both lots within early October and the procurement resulted from Thailand's negotiations to buy COVID-19 vaccines from countries in the European Union. Popular Post law ling
1. We don't hear much these days about the locally produced A-Z vax. 2. Great to be getting more vaxes, but having to get cabinet approval sounds like an unnecessarily cumbersome procedure.

ikke1959
Are these vaccines approved by the EU and WHO, because it is unfair that people will get approved vaccines from EU and other people unapproved vaccine of the same Astra made in Thailand. It will cause for people problems with travelling and nobody who is jabbed has the choice.

(It was for Thais.) We were turned away at 10 past opening time (9am) because they only had 500 doses! When will Anutin realise that no-one wants his lucrative Chinese rubbish? ChrisY1
I'm not at all sure about these vaccine purchases....why would a country buy just 160K doses.....not 16 Mill doses.... Is Thailand playing the "developing country" line and getting vaccines donated?
