Passport validity for travel

Featured Replies

When will travel to Thailand should meet a friend from Philippines, actually employed in Qatar. His passport expired and he got an extension for one year but now she has only 5 months left. Can he travel to Thailand? He will be in Thailand for ten days.

You do not require 6 months validity on a passport to be stamped into Thailand as is often thought to be the case.

The airlines sometimes have their own rules on this and want to see 6 months validity.

He needs to check with airline.

Before considering a 10-day visit, make sure the requirements for a Certificate of Entry (COE) are understood. The passport validity issue might be the least of the concerns.

It depends upon your nationality. Those from some countries are required to have 6 months of passport validity to enter Thailand.

Most people that qualify for a visa exempt entry only need 6 months of validity.
