The news comes as Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha has confirmed the country will reopen to vaccinated foreign tourists from 10 low risk countries who arrive by air on Nov 1.

Visitors will still need to show proof of Covid insurance for the Thailand Pass system, pegged to replace the certificate of entry (COE). The new web-based system will reduce the time it takes to get permission to enter from 3-6 to 1-3 days, the CCSA said on Friday.

I see there were 488 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, it has also been reported they have locked down 5 more communities there due to the surge in cases.

The Department of Medical Sciences has been observing #COVID19 variants in #Thailand by running random genetic tests on viruses from around the country. It input the data in the GISAID and has just revealed the results.

So none of the new variants appear to be here like the MU variant seen elsewhere.

CCSA: The list of low risk countries is already known and will be publicly released around Wednesday next week. The number of countries will be greater than ten. People coming from these countries won’t need to do quarantine from 1st November

But they will need to quarantine for at least 1 day. Misinformation as usual from this government

From Covid to cancer: High hopes for ‘versatile’ mRNA

The coronavirus pandemic has made vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna and the mRNA technology that they use into household names.

These types of jabs are new but researchers have been working for decades to try to figure out how to use messenger RNA for other vaccinations and to treat illnesses from AIDS to cancer.

Video of the English language CCSA press briefing today and he clearly states right at the beginning that "as announced by the PM there will be no quarantine"

The only people who have so far mentioned quarantine is Anutin and some nut from TAT. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping they will be ruled down, but preparing for the inevitable that the 1 or 2 day quarantine depending on when your flight arrives will be in place.

I'm also very interested in what the rules will be for incoming children who may not be vaccinated or partially vaccinated.

Why treat them different than those already in the country who are travelling from one end to the other as domestic tourists and either unvaccinated or vaccinated but not tested as the international travelers must be.  If your going to open up Thailand with no quarantine then it is just that no quarantine.

From the "not enough testing" lobby seems a bit off! One night awaiting a test result is hardly quarantine.

You missed addressing the content of the post, the "not enough testing lobby" as you put it is a well known fact for testing within the community, this is nothing to do with that, its to do with a decision to accept international tourists with one nights quarantine in an approved SHA or ASQ. So as in the post, why treat them differently to domestic flights and tourists?

Yes, a sensible approach but will tourists be aware of this possibly 24 hour quarantine whilst awaiting the test results and also the further costs involved?

They're not aware of these things until it's sprung on them at the last minute -

Sneaky bastards.
