A foreign national has been detained for allegedly assaulting police officers.

A foreigner living in Kampot has been charged with assaulting police, and it has been revealed that he is wanted by authorities in his own country and may have completed a prison sentence in the United Kingdom for a £2 million theft.


Raivo Loige, a 38-year-old Estonian man, was arrested after a car accident on National Road 33 at Chum Kreal Market in Chum Kreal Village, Chum Kreal Commune, Teuk Chhou District on October 19, 2021.

 

Loige was accused of driving while inebriated and, when negotiating compensation for the owner of the car he had hit, attacked and injured members of the Kampot police force.
