crodge
Hi, I went to a well known pool supplier in Bangkok who told me they never fit Hydrostatic relief valves to their pools, they didn't even have them for sale. Out of interest, does anyone here have experience with these and should one be fitted? Many thanks
carlyai
Hi, they have them in fibreglass pools (not sure if all fibreglass manufacturers have them). We didn't install one in our DIY home concrete pool. Our water table was more than 3 m down.
Saanim
No need to install the relief valve if there is no high ground water level around swimming pool. And even if there is, it's essential only if the pool will be left empty and the construction is not very sturdy (plastic pools) . A possible problem of these valves is leakage after some time. Then, the pool has to be emptied for the valve exchange. And if the pool is emptied a rupture of the pool can happen (in case of momentary high ground water level). No need to empty the pool in years...
