I've had slow speeds all week. In the past I was getting close to 1000 Kbps download speed/ 450 Kbps upload speed. This whole week my download speed has been hovering below 500 Kbps sometimes dropping all the way down to 100 Kbps. The upload has remained normal.

I went to TRUE today to complain and they told me to test the local connection insisting that it's possible just international speed that has dropped. Isn't the local connection what the Speed test on Thaivisa measures? Anyway....I'm not sure what to do and I was just wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar problems.

I'm going to repost this in the internet forum but I thought I'd hit up here first.

I've also tested it on

http://www.asianet.co.th/testspeedmain.php - has me at 507.253 Kbps

Am I measuring the local and international?

Can I now conclude it is a problem with True in Chiang Mai, my cable line at my condo, or my cable modem?

That asianet link only measures local speeds. Definite proof that there's something wrong with True's network and not the international link.

I'd definitely reset my modem first. Than I'd check my torrenting program. If you're uploading at too great of a speed, you can choke your download.

This is a great link to see if there's problems with the network.

If you're renting the modem, the onus is on True from where your cat-5 cable plugs in to the rest of the world. Call them up, have screenshots, etc.

I'm gonna assume you've scanned for virus/trojans/nasties, however, here's a traffic analyzer.

Hoping you have luck!
