depends what panels were used, 100w or 550w.  Surely we're not going to start complaining about 'space needed' for alternative energy.

 

Anything beats fossil fuel, well, almost.  Wind, Hydro & Solar ... ????????

That  would be 2,700 MW = 2,700,000 kW = 2,700,000,000 W

 

Somewhere I read there are 144,417 panels installed. If assumed that 1 panel 1 x 1 m gives approx. 1,000 W (in best case), 144,417 panels x 1,000 W = 144,417,000 W = 144,417 kW = 144.417 MW = 0.144417 GW

 

O yes, he said there are also some hydro turbines, will they produce 2.7 - 0.144 = 2.556 GW = 2,556 MW ?  

The biggest hydropower is Bhumipol Dam, that can bring up with its 8 turbines over 150 m height some 700 MW = 0.7 GW (in best case).   

 

Where did I make a mistake?

Yes he said Gigawatts 

apparently Mr Google says 1GW = 1000000000 watts (100 million watts)

But now, you did make a mistake, it's 1,000 million watts. (10^9 W).  But your 9 zeros were correct, sorry, I have added the commas for better counting...

I was never any good with numbers ????   too many zeros  just boggles my mind !
