Daily News reported on the once thriving Ratchada Rot Fai Night market - Train Night Market Ratchada - that has now been completely cleared out of all vendors.

The market used to be open from 5 pm to 1 am pre-pandemic but after Covid lockdowns, curfews and the economic slump vendors were given 14 days to clear out.

The media published before and after pictures after TikTok posts in which one vendor said simply:

"It's over".

So many uninformative stories! It is closed! No explanation. Is there one in the Thai language article, I wonder?

Sad. Another victory for the big companies and malls. The so called recovery is so one sided, and does not benefit the lower income. The rich becoming richer, while the poor becoming poorer. How many great food street stalls have run out of business because of the pandemic.

Cleared a long time ago already and with todays decision not to open bars before January-15, it will stay that way for a while

This is just sad. It was a fun and thriving place to visit every now and then.

Maybe another much needed up-market shopping mall needed?

Sad as it was a fun place to wander and eat, drink icy cold beer with your amore, n smile at folks. An so down the plug-hole we all go holding hands and telling each other everything is fine and tomorrow will be better.

Looks like it's ready for developing into a huge 50 storey high rise. Such a shame, I've never been but have always been a fan of Thai markets.

Is Huai Kwang night market open now? I had lots of memories there after 2AM

Two weeks to flatten the curve.
