Thai energy minister defends 30 baht/litre price for diesel

Thailand’s energy minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow has defended the government’s decision to cap the retail price of diesel fuel at 30 baht/litre, saying that this price has been maintained for more than a decade by several governments, including the Prayut administration.

Bangkok police deny use of live rounds against anti-establishment protesters

The Thai police have not resorted to the use of lethal weapons including live rounds in dealing with anti-establishment protesters, and that only rubber bullets were used, according to Deputy Commissioner and spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) Pol Maj-Gen Jirasant Kaewsang-ek today (Monday).
