Popular Post Tayida
In one of these Facebook forum about Thailand reopening, I read a guy that twice he extended his visa at Patong police station. Can really be done at police station?
Popular Post DrJack54
No. Visas cannot be extended and not at cop shop. He possibly meant obtained covid extensions. Perhaps agent in Bangla Rd.. Edited November 19, 2021 by DrJack54 1 1
Popular Post BritTim
You cannot extend a "visa" anywhere. You always apply for a visa anew. You can extend a permission to stay, but this is always done at an immigration office, never a regular police station. 2 1
Popular Post ubonjoe
He was probably calling the Patong immigration office a police station. 7
flbkk
I have heard of landlords doing TM30s at police stations, maybe thats what OP was thinking of. 1
Bangkok Barry
I've read on this site that 90 day reports can supposedly be done at a police station, but the police are unaware of that and will probably refuse and send you to immigration.

The immigration act states 90 day reports can be done at a police station if there is not a immigration office in the area where you are living. That wording is taken to mean in the province where your are living and there are offices in every province now. It is basically the same for TM30 and TM27 reporting.
Popular Post easydoor
A lot of people, even living for long in Thailand, still don't know the difference between a visa, an extension of stay, a police office, costumers, immigration.... so they mix all what makes a lot of confusion. An extension of stay only can be done by Immigration. 2

Yes, I often go to the police station for a new set of clothes, but the only colour they have is brown, and too tight.

I tried that a few times after the last "clamp down" on TM30's......not a snowball's chance in hell.......no way were the police being drawn into doing any extra paperwork. These too probably confused immigration office with police station. Thai Immigration come under the Thai Royal Police -- they all are in fact police officers a - so an easy mistake to make, but the Immigration Police are a separate bureau within the RTP and have separate office from the main police.
DrJack54
Do folk recall this one from few years (?) ago.... Quote from webfact thread. "Pol Col Somchai explained that in order to complete their 90 day report at 7-Eleven, foreigners will need to hand their passport, 4 passport photos and the TM47 form to 7-Eleven staff who will then scan the relevant information into the new system" Excellent idea. Note only possible between 2pm and 5pm when alcohol sales are banned.
mrwebb8825
Yes OP - Yes of course you can. The RTP will also be glad to help with overstay issues. I highly recommend anyone on overstay to head to their closest police station to get this matter cleared up. Lines are MUCH shorter too. Here's your sign ???? jazzdog32095
For $ 1.16 / day I haven't had to deal with anything to do with immigration except sign-off for five years. Just about the greatest system on earth.
