An Unusual Number Of Mole Crabs Came Ashore At Had Sai Kaew In North Phuket, While Biologists Will Inspect The Causes.

Featured Replies

Marine biologists from the Marine and Coastal Resources centre in Phuket checked on the Haad Sai Kaew beach in ThaChatChai area in the north of Phuket after an unusual number of mole crabs also known as Hippa were found washed ashore on Sunday afternoon. Local villagers gathered to get the crabs for food while some commented that the unusual phenomenon may have been caused by a change of temperatures. The marine biologists however took samples of sea water and the crabs to examine. Other marine life like crabs and sea cucumbers were also washed ashore and did not go back to sea. Villagers claimed that they have not experienced such phenomenon in the last 20 years.
