Installing SystemRescueCd on an USB stick

There may the time coming where you can't boot your system from hard disk. What now? Re-install everything? And what's with the last data (if an backup is(!) available)?

There different ways but 2 may suiteable for everybody: a Rescue CD or a Rescue USB Stick!

The software for to create this kind of Rescue Media is available on the Internet and it's name is systemRescueCd.

The default version of systemRescueCd aims to work from a CDRom. It's also possible to install SystemRescueCd on an USB stick.

You just need a 256 MB stick, and you can insatall from Linux or windows. You can find instructions about how to install in the official SystemRescueCd website, in the "Online manual" section.
