Retirement Extension renewal. Agent prices Pattaya

Featured Replies

Does anyone have the latest agent prices for an agent obtained extension renewal. I am talking about an existing extension where already have a Thai bank account Krungsri and the agent provides the 800k. I know that last year before the Bangkok Bank scandal that proces were about 12.5k to 13k. I am mainly interested in Cambodia Travel on Soi Baukau and Maneerat on Soi Post Office. Thanks.

IMO stick with agent you have used for last 3 years. Maybe tad more expensive. The saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it" comes to mind

  • true and when u die, what happens to the 800,000 in the bank? Do it urself 1,900 baht----- 800,000 in the bank earning less than .75% use an agent 16,000 ----- 800,000 earning min 4% in a bank ( 3

If they're doing your extension in a different province then I would think they'd need to have you registered at an address in that province so unless they file a TM30 to switch you back to your real

Both agents you mention are recommended..

Cambodia v Maneerat most likely the latter bit cheaper.

They aren't far apart.

Personally I would visit both and go with gut feel.

Most likely closer to 15k so with multi reentry permit no change out of ~ 20k

Thanks I was hoping someone had the latest prices to save me calling them or going there. I have used Cambodia Travel for the past 3 years. Last year they even took me to open a new account with Krungsri after they stopped dealing with Bangkok Bank. All for the same price as previously 12,500 baht. Unless I get some recent experience posted I will have to do as you suggested and visit or call them.

Why does it matter?

Yes I'm curious too, I don't think it does, (I think my 90 days via agent which now takes 2 weeks isn't Jomtiem now.)

If they're doing your extension in a different province then I would think they'd need to have you registered at an address in that province so unless they file a TM30 to switch you back to your real address, you're going to have to use them to do your 90 Day Reports and could have problems getting a Certificate of Residence for Bank Account, Driving License etc.

I use Maneerat (8K as I keep the 800K in the Bank Account) and it's a 2 minute visit to Jomtien to have my photo taken in front of the Retirement Extension desk.

You clearly live in Jomtien.

TVC provides service for anyone in Thailand. So for you it might not make sense, but for others it very well may. And they don't even have to go anywhere except the post office.

Not quite, I live in Wongamat (the other side of Pattaya) but every province has an Immigration Office, though I appreciate some guys can live a long way away from their IO & not everywhere has agents who can help with the finance side of things so having a postal service would be a life saver for some.

I'm not saying it's good or bad, just answering the question as to why it might make a difference.

Edit: When I posted "A 2 minute visit to Jomtien" I meant I'm in the office for 2 minutes, takes me 30-40 mins to get there depending on traffic.

That includes the regular fee of 1900 Baht?

If I had the misfortune having to deal with Jomtien I would sure spend that money.

What financial proof is required?

Yes, that includes the 1,900 THB for the extension, I also pay an extra 4,000 THB to get a multi re-entry permit so 12K all in.

Letter from (Bangkok) Bank, updated passbook & a 3 month statement (Fixed Deposit account).

I usually pop in to see them a couple of days before & they give me a piece of paper to give to the Branch that explains everything I need.

On the day I'm doing my extension I go into the bank 1st thing, then to Maneerat then to Jomtien to have my picture taken, pick up the passport a couple of days later...

Most helpful, many thanks. My Immigration Office is over a 170km round trip. My online 90 day reporting has stopped working and I can no longer drive. These guys can obtain my extensions and also do my reporting for me!

Manareet - renewed with their money in October 2025 for 15k, including all immigration fees. I did not get a re-entry permit.

you just got off the boat??, folk mainly use agents as they have not got the wedge. or they refuse to keep 800K THB locked up in Thai banking. The third lot have the money but their time is too valuable to spend at IO. I know a heap of wealthy OAP's and will use agents until its go to the Wat time......

I switched from Cambodia to Maneerat for OA extension processing, they were a bit cheaper and I thought nicer as well 🤷‍♂️. One thing - if using them for the 800k they required a Krung Thai bank account from a particular branch (Klang, near Beach road), this as of October last year.

The GF gets it, assuming it's not been used for medical reasons to help me not to die, I'm a huge believer in keeping at least 6 months cash in-country as an "Oops fund" so the fact that this covers my extension requirements is a bonus.

I get maximising returns on paper but most people at retirement have probably moved a large percentage of their investments into lower yielding/gaining/safer assets, having cash in the bank is just a part of that.

As always... To each his own.
