Featured Replies

Hello,

I am thinking of driving from Bangkok to Khao Yai for a weekend holiday. Does anyone know which route to take and what interesting things to do or see in Khao Yai?

Thanks.

Hi, the easiest road is to take Pahon Yothin road to saraburi, follow the sign Nakhon Ratchasima.

You will pass Farm Chockchai, a few kilometer further there will be a sign: Pakchong-Khao Yai, take this exit, while on the exit follow "Khao Yai" and you will be at the park entrance after another 23 kilometer.

If you need a place to stay, pm me, I have a guesthouse a few kilometer before the park entrance.

cheers, rono

Do you know that you can camp in the park and there are also rooms available for rent. At the two camping areas you can rent all the camping gear (tent, blankets etc) you'll need and there is a restrauant so eating wont be a problem. The rooms are hard to get for the weekend but you can try this number in Bangkok and try to book one if that interest you: 02 562-0760

Also if you decide to camp be warned that the camping areas get very crowed on the weekends. My suggestiopn would be to try to go during the week and not when their is a Thai holiday.

If you are driving from the eastern suburbs of Bangkok then you are better off entering the park from the Prachinburi side of the park.
