Anutin concerned by establishments allowing drinking of alcohol as cases rise

Infoquest reported that cases of Covid-19 are starting to rise after restaurants were allowed to offer alcohol.

This from Thailand's health minister and DPM Anutin Charnvirakul, who the media said was concerned about the issue.

There was however no evidence of this either from the minister or in the body of their report.

He stressed that all restaurants must maintain a strict Covid Free Setting with all staff from cooks to waiting personnel fully vaccinated.

They should apply for SHA and SHA+ accreditation.

He also suggested that consideration should be given to ensuring that customers had all been vaccinated.

If everyone followed the rules then more reopening and easement would follow.

He said that less than 10 million people in Thailand had now not received a first dose of vaccine though he conceded they will never vaccinate everyone.

He again urged people waiting for paid jabs of vaccine like Moderna to have free government shots of Moderna or Pfizer as a matter of priority.

Visa-compliant insurance plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m

Anutin doesn't need evidence before opening his mouth and allowing rubbish to spew forth. The booze with food thing is ridiculous. I have seen many eateries absolutely rammed with people, yet this is OK, while a beer or wine with a meal in a quiet restaurant is not.

How convenient.

Maybe if we all had enough vaccine of our choosing he wouldn't need to worry so much.

I refer you to my quotes below.  These quotes are the only wisdom you need in today's world.

Even if we want we couldnt. The role out is going way to slow. And onces the last persons are vaccinated the vaccins on the first ones are hardly protect anymore. This is a game you can not win.

It looks like Mr Anutin had a lucky escape the other day then - I understand Switzerland is absolutely rammed with restaurants serving booze!

It looks like Anutin suspects someone somewhere might be enjoying themselves. Quick, crack down.

If only they could find a way to keep the proles/peasants out of sight, released only for a few hours to do some menial work on minimum wage and then back to their hovel. Oh I know, another Covid lockdown.

They would have been IF he had done his job properly instead of cashing in on Chinese stuff.

Non-vaccinated people in Switzerland has to sit outside in the cold. They must enjoy it. At least they have saved their freedom...????

Even we expats might not like it to be like that, then khun Anutin is unfortunately quite right...

Why do the media give this clown any air time. It seems that whenever he is ranting there is some journalist there to report the nonsense spouted out. Message: we know he does not know anything and is an idiot....alcohol relaxes throat and lets COVID enter more easily (what rubbish)

Idiot.

this is what happens when you let incompetent "unelected" officials have power on public policies ????

I'm concerned coz of him and his mates being on this planet

Where is the medical research showing a CAUSATIVE RELATIONSHIP between drinking a glass of wine with your dinner and falling ill with Covid ?

In Australia it has been demonstrated that when ice-cream consumption rises there are more shark attacks.
But still no ban on ice-cream.
