Clean up your Dog's Mess

I feel assamed when I see this Farang walking his Dog along with his Thai lady on Dongtan Beach Jomtien. Twice now I have seen the dog do its business alongside the waters edge in full view of them. They made no effort to clear up the dog s**t. Disgraceful. I do have photos of him but I am doubtful if posting them on here is the right thing to do. By the way I have a dog and would never do that.

Well I guess birds of a feather flock together. See how you enjoy it. Last time I went the pool was so acidic it burned my son's eyes and the cement lining was so badly dissolved it was leaking massiv

Then, as if to take responsibility, he took a little stick laying nearby in the sand and stuck it on top of the little pyramid of dog poop, like a flag to warn others LOL.

I had the impulse to pick up the stick and hand it back to him like it was an hor d'oeuvre.  I didn't but maybe I should have.

Fat guy & small dog?  I was sitting on Jomtien's promenade one late afternoon and a guy walking his dog near me and as his dog leaves a dump not too far away from me he just walks off.  Those farang Jomtien dog owners are disgusting.

A bit overweight dog medium size. I see him many times and they always let the dog walk off the lead and s**t. We always carry plastic bags and clear up. No excuse for it. His place must the the same disgraceful

Thailand will never be short of temples, and irresponsible dog owners.

Did you make a wrong step lately?

Hope you did not wear flipflops.

This is unfortunately a problem with a LOT of dog owners... in our village, there are plenty of **** who open the door in the morning and let their dogs roam free around the village and dump their <deleted> and <deleted> in every corner where ever they like... and when you complain, you are the bad guy who does not like or understand the poor dogs...

You are lucky it was just a dog!  I have seen guys squat on Beach Road and take a dump! ????????????

A little off the Thailand topic.

I used to find little piles of poop in my yard when I mowed the grass.  Thought it was some neighbor letting their little mutt do its business in my yard.  Then started to find them inside the fenced in back yard.

Finally found out it was, racoons, possums, and skunks dropping their load in my yards!

As charming as drivers/riders pissing by the roadside on main roads.

It is just poop. It's quickly biodegradable. Poop is not really a  problem for the environment, in fact may be a benefit to it. This can't be said of most of the trash that humans deposit on the beach, especially plastics.

Have to agree, and was leary about posting myself.  Will agree it's unsightly on the walkways, especially if making it to the bottom of your footwear.

Having a dog, and not picking up after it ...  stay with me.  Don't have a yard at the moment, so off to the park in the AM, and surf in the PM.  Park, it's free fertilizer.  She doesn't do her business on the walkways, or near the exercise equipment, and usually where nobody will even see. let alone step in.

Surfside, if kids around playing, easy enough, shoe a hole, and push in & cover.  Usually don't bother otherwise, as not a beach people sit on.  Polluted bay next to small town.  so polluted, I won't walk the dog on surfside fronting the town.  Don't want her licking her paws after walking on that section of sand.

One side of the bay is OK, though I wouldn't swim in it.  Beside, anything she deposits, gets washed in before the next day, as I yet to see anything the next day, and we hit the same spot all the time.  Along with the 20 ish soi dogs, who make their contributions, though usually in the grassy area just prior to the surf.  Between the bike lane, and seawall, where most folks sit.  The area most people walk through to get surfside ???? We go a few more meters before making any deposits.

If in the city, Krung Thep, and no grass around, then walk along the sewer side of the road, and easy to knock anything into the grated curbside.  Again, soi dogs make more than their share of contributions known.   Picking up would equate to picking up a piece of trash at the land fill ????

With my back, I'm not bending over to pick anything up.

Hey man - what do you think about all the Thais who don't care for their dogs and allow them to run free.  Why aren't you b****ing about them and all the pooping they do?

"I'm such a good person.  I'd never do that.  Bad Farangs!!! Grrrr."

Give it a break.

Meh, the Centara Chaan Talay in Trat used to be one of our favourite family holiday hotels on account of it being so remote (until they started letting it decay). Last time we went they'd become 'dog friendly'. Other than the yapping dogs keeping us awake all night from the nearby rooms, the beachfront had a nice coating of fresh dog Krap. . . We never went back.

Last time I went the pool was so acidic it burned my son's eyes and the cement lining was so badly dissolved it was leaking massively. In any case, "dog friendly" says to me "Don't stay there". I hate dog krap, I hate yapping dogs all night, I hate dogs sticking their nose in my balls when I walk out of my room, I hate eating breakfast with dogs licking eachother's ar$eholes and trying to phuc eachother under the tables, and I hate dogs.

You see, this is one of my problems with dog lovers. Aside from the fact they're unable to accept that other people can't pretend their dogs aren't dirty, they're so delusional that they think my kids having to step in their dog's excrement when on holiday somehow makes the world a better place.

Oh come off it pal, I dont live in an area where the Thai's let their dogs mess everywhere. As a responsible dog owner I clear up my dogs mess and would not dream of leaving it. Would this happen in the western world of course it wasnt. The Farang guy is disgusting and its right on a populated beach where people swim and children play. I feel like picking up and smearing it all over his car door handles.

You seem to have some massive phobia / irrational hangup about dogs and their owners.

As for you comments about dog friendly hotels....well there are plenty of people, including me, that would rather see some cute dogs at breakfast in a hotel than miserable farangs with screaming children running about the place.

At least the dogs don't pick their noses and scratch their backsides then go touching all the food on the breakfast buffet.

The dogs also don't <deleted>, vomit or <deleted> themselves in the hotel swimming pool either.

Also, statically, people are more likely to catch germs and diseases off children than pet dogs.

Last hotel I stayed we have a  screaming crying baby in the next room for a few nights, and the couple's other 2 kids running up and down the corridor outside our room laughing and shouting all evening.  I can't see how that is worst than a dog yapping.

No I just don't like dog $#it and I don't like dogs. It sounds like you're trying to convince me somehow children can be compared with dogs, and you call me irrational? I never saw anyone taking their kids to $#!t on the beach. I also never saw a human child eating excrement. To me, dogs are dirty animals, only fit for use as a tool (guards, farming, aid for the blind etc etc). I understand some childless couples (gay, infertile, whatever) treat their dogs as children. In any case, no one here is convincing me my dislike of dog $#it on the beach is irrational and it is somehow socially acceptable to let your dog s#!t wherever it wants. What about you, do you find the smell attractive? Do you like walking in it?

About owners, I find most to be irresponsible and oblivious to the offense they cause. I don't like to have my crotch licked by a dog I know has probably just eaten $#it. Maybe you think I should like that? I blame dog owners for that, not the dog. I also blame dog owners for letting their dogs run into the road etc etc. Like I said, dog lovers can't get their head around the fact some people don't like dogs, and their $#it. They can't understand why I find it offensive to have some strange dog bark at me or my children in a public road, they can't understand why I find it offensive to have some strange dog drool on me in my hotel corridor. They call you 'irrational' because you don't like that. They think everyone should love their stupid dog like they do.

Toxocariasis is an illness found in humans that occurs when they are infected with parasitic roundworms, originating from the fecal matter of dogs.........50 children a year lose their eyesight just in the US.....but then again its only poop.

It's been a while since I've been to Hua Hin, so maybe this has changed.

They have horse rides on the beach there, and guess what there is in the sand and surf.  Usually there are dogs following the horses to devour their droppings.  No need to mention what the dogs leave behind.

The beach is for the view only, you don't want to actually visit it.

If you take the "it's only poop attitude" you should visit India: the stuff is everywhere, but no problems for you if you think it's only . . .

I lived there for a while some years back.  Afterwards, in the US, they found I had some rare form of intestinal worm.  Well, rare in North America.  The specialist had never actually encountered it before.  He told me that it's caused by fecal contact -- the larvae come in through the skin and the critters make their home in the intestines.  Just lovely.  The story makes a good case for not wearing sandals.

Haha..... my pet hate is if eating at a friends, they let their dog sit there staring at you or begging for food..... I complained once and was immediately put in my place by the guys wife for not loving her little darling.....

I regard dogs as unhygienic....

You having kids and then taking them on holiday to somewhere you expect to be pristine is more of a problem to the environment than dog poop.

How many dogs and other animals are killed each year by humans just for fun? Humans are much more of a problem in this world than dog poop.
