A woman in Mueang Chonburi has won the first prize in the Thai national lottery yesterday (December 1st), receiving a prize of 12 million baht.

The Thai lottery is announced twice each month (the 1st and 16th of each month). One set of the first prize lottery is worth 6 million baht.

Hope a policeman doesn't lay claim to the ticket.......so could turn out to be a loser not a winner.

Probably the worst value lottery in the world, as well as the most antiquated sales system. If you want the same numbers every time you have to go around hunting for them. Needs to be updated with terminals in 7/11 etc, the underground lottery is better in some ways.

She might regret the publicity soon, should have stayed anonymous.

For a 51 year old chicken seller , she must have taken good care of her hands then .

You are supposed to register the first prize winning ticket to the police.

Odd. I was thinking the condition of the hands was a clear indication of the fact she couldn't possibly have only been 21.

Sadly for her Ezzra was correct.

She may find that she knew friends at kindergarten days who just want to wish her luck and perhaps "borrow" a few thousand baht.

If ever I win big on the lottery there will be very few people that I will tell.

cost of a Powerball ticket in Oz is about $5 for 4 games min. This week the winning ticket collected A$80 million (approx thb 1.9 Billion)

Yes power ball in Australia was a staggering $80 million this week just 1 syndicate won it.

If my missus won that, my bum would be hitting road outside pretty sharpish.

I've always discouraged her from buying the tickets.

I thought that gambling was illegal in Thailand

as my thai friends always tell me; the lottery is not gambling, it's a game of chance ????

J.I.T. for Christmas.

I wish her good life, and now she can afford to buy another million lottery tickets.

I wonder whether non-Thai can buy Thai lottery? If they could, has any farang won any Thai lottery before?
