King and Queen Mother pay respects to Prince Ranariddh

King Norodom Sihamoni attended the funeral of his half-brother Prince Norodom Ranariddh with Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk yesterday to pay respects for his soul. It was the second day of the Prince’s funeral with his coffin set for viewing by senior officials and the general population to pay their respects.

The Prince’s body arrived from France on Sunday at noon on a special chartered flight received by the royal family and representatives of the Royal Palace. The King had attended the funeral in the second day to pay respect to Prince Ranariddh at his private residence in Samdech Pan Street in Daun Penh district.

Funcinpec spokesman Nhoeun Raden told Khmer Times yesterday that Prime Minister Hun Sen attended the funeral yesterday afternoon with National Assembly president Heng Samrin. He added that it was a very great opportunity for the King and Queen Mother to pay their respects.
