Somchai and Somret Keran received a check for 2.5 million baht yesterday. Their fourth year law student daughter Patcharapha or "Nong Ying" died instantly on May 1st in the accident in Krasang, Buriram. They had mounted a campaign through the media after the driver who killed their daughter paid up a couple of hundred thousand and left the rest to insurance who found ways to wriggle out of paying. Now the check is signed - ASEAN NOW didn't name the company when they were in trouble and won't now. Mum Somret sid according to promises made they will now embark on a 100 day "Tham Bun" period for their daughter and install CCTV at the accident spot to ensure any other family don't have to go through their torment. My wife's mother died 7 years ago. My wife had to fight with the life insurance company to get her claim, and then they only paid a portion not the whole thing.
