BMW seilf-oil changers - which 5w-30 ?

regedit

Recommended Posts

Castrol Edge seems to get recommended but there's a few variations of 5W-30 and I can't see any here which specify LL-04. Castrol website mentions Edge Professional LL04 but can't find it anywhere.

Which is the right one available here to use on N47T/F10 engine ?

Thanks

Your owner's manual should specify the minimum required grade, just buy this grade or a better one.

The document says these oils must not be used outside of Europe.

At least OP knows which oils he should not use.

I'm struggling to find anything available here that specifically says LL-04. Closest is C3 (Porsche approved) which is ACEA C3 which manual says is an alternative spec.

I don't think its as simple as sticking in any 5W-30...

With the money you save put some Ceratec in.

We changed the oil on a friends E63 and he said he had never seen his running oil temp so low before.

I have now ‘won’ a pump for extracting the oil out via dipstick holder…well until next year. Actually very cheap to buy.
