One of my dogs playing with a Rat

Title says it all. If I get too near, she gives me a warning in the form of a low growl.

IMHO this is why at least one dog is a "must have" in a rural/semi rural area. Two is better so they can form a tag-team.

Rats , rats , the small cat takes them from the Heavy Mob. He catches one or two every night.

His favourite food is Rat- or -2 eh.

My house is next to huge areas of open fields so at least once a week they are battling with rats, mice, snakes, and the occasional hia that we get about once a year.  This video from about a month ago of my dogs tag teaming a hia.

Note: Video might be graphic to some, but I quickly pulled my dogs off the hia, placed it in a wheelbarrow and moved it to an open field, although it was bitten and bloody it quickly ran off.

Cobras not allowed in our garden but he does catch the odd Bronze Back and they are nice snakes so I wish he would leave them be.
