Foreign Ministry Announces Important Updates for Thailand Pass

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced important updates for applicants registering for entry into Thailand. Following a surge in Omicron coronavirus cases, the government has suspended the Test & Go and Sandbox applications - with the exception of the Phuket Sandbox program - from the Thailand Pass system until further notice.

927 million baht paid to over 8,000 people suffering side effects from COVID vaccinations

Between April 5th and December 26th, Thailand’s National Health Security Office (NHSO) paid out about 927 million baht in financial aid to 8,470 people who suffered undesirable side effects after being inoculated with COVID-19 vaccines.

Grim worst case for Thailand next year if people lower their guard against COVID-19

BMA to Give 4th Shots for Frontline Medics, Chronic Patients

BANGKOK (NNT) - According to Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang, in order to cope with the new Omicron variant, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is planning to provide a fourth shot to frontline medical officers and patients with chronic conditions.

Covid – 19 vaccine walk ins for Thais and foreigners, including boosters, available in Chonburi

The Chonburi Public Health Office last night (December 26th) has announced Covid -19 vaccine walk ins for people who live in Chonburi. Foreigners, according to officials, can participate although must wait in line the same as anyone else, show their passport and visa information, and officially tourist style visas are not eligible. (Your mileage could vary here in terms of foreigner eligibility, please check with the hospital before spending significant time waiting in line or commuting-Editor) The walk in campaign is from today (December 27th) to January 2nd.

Thailand unveils plans to cope with Omicron COVID variant outbreak

Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health has unveiled plans to cope with a potential outbreak of the COVID-19 Omicron variant next year, including the reactivation of the home isolation program, as the main way to accommodate the infected, and community isolation facilities in Bangkok to shelter infected children, said Dr. Somsak Akksilp, director-general of Medical Services Department, today (Monday).

2021: The year mass vaccination injected mass confusion in Thailand

As of December 27, more than 70 percent of the population or 51 million people had received at least one shot. About 63 percent or 45.4 million had received their second shot, while 6.2 million people had been given a booster.

 

With over 100 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in Thailand, 2021 has been a year of mass vaccination but also frustration and confusion.
