Public disaster experts admitted Sunday that the Thai public is generally unaware of the danger posed by a repeat of a devastating tsunami, like that which struck many countries in Southeast Asia and around the Indian ocean, including the west coast of southern Thailand 17 years ago, and that there is a lack of a credible tsunami early warning system.

Karen refugees moved further from the border as fighting intensifies in Myanmar

Authorities Recommend 3 AstraZeneca Doses to Fight Omicron

Thai vaccine certs accepted in Europe as Omicron offers glimmers of hope for a virus fatigued world

Mr Giuseppe Busini, the Deputy Chief of the European Union Mission in Thailand, has confirmed that Thai vaccines and COVID-19 certification on the Mor Prom app will be valid and accepted across the European Union from January 2022. It follows agencies in the 27 member bloc adopting equivalency proposals this week for Thailand and several other states. The new regime will span up to 60 countries linked under a mutually recognised scheme or network.

 

Public health officials are currently scrambling to control an emerging cluster in Kalasin caused by a returned couple from Belgium who travelled extensively in Kalasin and Khon Kaen provinces before being diagnosed on December 16th last at Kalasin Hospital.

Mahidol University Launches Sex Education App for Youths with Hearing Impairments

The European Union (EU) has endorsed the Thailand Digital Health Pass on the “Mor Prom” application, which means the pass is equivalent to the EU’s COVID-19 clearance certificate and can be used, starting in January, to enter European countries, Government Spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said, today (Monday).
